The origins of Nomadic Gear as a media concept began in the Grand Teton Mountains of Moose, Wyoming during the summer of 2010. I wanted to share with my family what I was doing out in the wild and so began my journal on Tumblr. After purchasing a DSLR video camera, the blog moved to YouTube in 2011 and the idea turned into a community effort stemming from the feelings I had during my stay in the bunkhouse full of 30+ nomads in Moose. The fall of 2011 began NG’s stay in Austin for over 5 years until January of 2017 when we decided to move our “headquarters” to the giant city of San Antonio. We moved into an urban center near the famous Pearl District and have been producing our travel videos primarily from our Community Clubhouse at our brand new apartments – it’s a super center of productivity that I’m excited to be a part of as Nomadic Gear grows. Soon we will be selling used camping gear, hand-drawn maps and more from our small time website. Thank you for being a part of our journey! –JWB
Here are some photos of the Clubhouse where we will be turning out a lot of our media and eventually products from Nomadic Gear!
